The above picture is one pound of fat in someone's hand. So, just when you think that you "only" lost a pound of fat, that in the picture above is really what you're losing. So, don't be too hard on yourself. Besides, every pound counts!
The last time I worked out was Friday. For right now, I'm sticking to Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 30 minutes each day. Of course, I'm doing beginner workout videos which is good because my right leg muscle ended up hurting so bad that I could barely walk. Today it's much better from using a heating pad, so I should be all ready to get up and move tomorrow morning for my 30 minute workout.
I'm using myfitnesspal.com to track my calorie intake and exercise. I can also record how many pounds I've lost and there is a cute little tracker that keeps me on track and motivated. It's also a great community to find support in. I've made two weight loss buddies since I've started using the site. One of my buddies use to be just about where I am (270 lbs) and now she is 145 lbs. So, it's really cool that I found someone I can really relate to as it pertains to weight loss. More than likely, to avoid posting all the time about my weight loss unless I have a really important update, I will post my tracker on my sidebar, so that ya'll can stay updated on my weight loss.
Other than that, I don't really have much more going on except trying to figure out what I need to eat, how much to cut back and getting ready for school. I'm hoping that once I get on track with my lifestyle change and school, I can post more often (hopefully everyday). Hang in there with me, ya'll!
Anyone else out there embarking on a weight loss journey? Feel free to share some tips below! I'd love to hear them!
Congrats! Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteAmanda,
DeleteThank you so much for the support! It really means a lot to me!!
Hi Tinisha! I'm working toward a weight loss goal as well. This post was helpful! 6.5 pounds is amazing! When I get frustrated about the weight coming off slowly, I'm going to remember that picture. I started using MyFitnessPal again this week too. I've learned that tracking everything keeps me accountable. Keep up the great work and good luck with the new semester!
ReplyDeleteHelen,
DeleteIt's really an eye opener to hold yourself accountable and realize that some of the food choices that you were making before were really bad and when you start eating healthy and watching the calories, you become more conscious of what you're putting in your mouth. It's good to do something healthy for yourself. I'm starting feel a little more self worth. Feel free to look me up on myfitnesspal...my username is Tjohnson052091!
