I apologize that it took me so long to make this post today, ya'll. Celebrating the New Year just left us completely exhausted. We slept in until about 11 a.m and finally got our Christmas decorations put away.
New Years Eve was a bunch of things. It was fun, exciting, interesting, and different than any other in the past.
Naturally like I mentioned in previous posts about our plans for the holiday, Jason and I went over his parents friend's house for New Years Eve. We had a lasagna dinner which was absolutely delicious. Dinner was just the 6 of us; Jason, his parents, me, and his parents two friends. It was a really great time!
I enjoyed 4-5 shots of 100.7 proof moonshine and polished off two whole bottles of Arbor Mist all by myself. And guess what? I handled my liquor really well this time!
I discovered that I have an obsession with Bugles and passion fruit Arbor Mist.
New Years Eve selfies are a must, obviously. This was my transition point from feeling good into tipsy. I was on cloud nine.
Oh, and I highly recommend the Caramel Apple Arbor Mist also! That was very delicious and I hope that they come out with their dessert line again next year. It's cheap stuff too. . .about $5 a bottle, but it does the job.
After dinner, my in-laws friends had friends of their own stop by which is always a trip. Everyone has their own opinion of them, but they are a great time to me. If anything, additional entertainment and I always welcome that no matter what form it comes in.

Jason's Mother, Karen (Isn't she just the prettiest?)
Me bringing in some peace for the New Year. (My hair got super long this year)
Gordon (One of my in-laws friends)
Alison (Gordon's Wife)
Gordon and Alison's friend (Kevin)
Kevin and Sandy (Gordon and Alison's friends)
So, this was pretty much the gist of our New Years Eve. Just a bunch of sitting around the table and bullshitting about things that don't really matter. We talked about topics that would offend the average person.
About an hour before the ball dropped, I called up my cousin Amanda and spoke with her about a few things and wished her a Happy New Year.
^ That's what we all looked like by the time the ball dropped ^
Lastly, the night ended quite interestingly with Kevin getting offended that there was a black guy with his shirt off on t.v when the ball dropped. This all happened after my mother in-law insisted that everyone look at the t.v, primarily us females. The last thirty minutes of the night, Kevin went on about how it should have been a white man on t.v because his ancestors founded America and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah! He was beyond drunk and that's why we mostly excused him. Oh, it was entertainment though! It was such a show that he ripped his shirt off to show people what a tough guy he was. Buttons flew everywhere! We didn't take what he was saying seriously due to the fact that he was extremely drunk. Heck, we were all drunk to be honest.
Yep. That was my New Years Eve. Overall, it was pretty successful. No fights. No one getting sick. Just a bunch of drunks acting stupid and saying things we have no knowledge about, especially Kevin.
Then New Years Day, we moved the rest of the heavy stuff over from Jason's parents house to our house. We went over Jason's parents house to eat MORE lasagna. Gordon and Alison came over for dinner as well.
Last but not least, on December 29th, 2014, my cousin Kayla gave birth to her beautiful daughter, Violet May O'brien who was 8.5 pounds, 21 inches long.
Ugh, I'm so in love with her. Every time I look at her, I'm just at a loss for words. She spent 4 days in the hospital because she had a c-section. I Facetimed with her for the first time since she had Violet on the 29th last night and she was still in the hospital. I think she actually went home today at some point.
What a great way to ring in the New Year.
How did your New Years Eve/Day go? Feel free to leave it in the comments below!
I hope this year is good to everyone!
