Scentsy Review

Without further ado, my review of Scentsy is here!  It's been long past due.  First of all, I would like to take a minute to thank Brianna for presenting me with the opportunity to review Scentsy and might I add that she was rather generous with the products that she gave me.  She wanted to make sure that I tried a little of everything in order to conduct the best review.  I've known Brianna since middle and high school and she is a pleasure to work with.  It's my honest opinion that you can confide in Brianna to provide you with the best customer service.

Brianna sent me this lovely warmer called Aspen Grove and it truly is a beautiful warmer.  The warmer does get sufficiently hot in order to melt the wax and the dish is very easily cleaned.  All you have to do is wipe it out!

She sent me three very delicious smelling bars -- B-A-N-A-N-A-S, Havana Cabana, and Vanilla Bean Buttercream.  As soon as you open the package, you can instantly smell them.  The wax is smooth to the touch and breaks rather easy for your convenience.  My house smells so good whenever I melt any of the scents.  People think I'm actually baking in the kitchen!

See how pretty it is lit up!  The great thing about this warmer is that it's so versatile.  I can use it in the living room, kitchen, or bedroom.  What I really like about Scentsy is that you can smell the scent before it barely even melts!  So, when it really starts to melt, you can just imagine how good your whole house will smell!

This was everything that Brianna had sent to me.  I love, love, LOVE the body butter!  I still can't stop using it!  The scent she sent to me in the body spray and body butter was Sugar.  It smells so good and hydrates your skin so well.  If you have really dry skin, I would definitely recommend the body butter.  The spray smells just as good.  The room spray that Brianna sent me was Coconut Cotton.  I love spraying this in my room right before I lay down.  It makes the room smell like an island paradise and leaves a calming effect.

The scent circle that Brianna sent me is called, 'My Only Sunshine'.  I know Brianna's products are really strong, so I attached the scent circle to my cat's liter box.  All I smell is this sweet scent.  No more stink!

Look!  Even Simba is a fan!  Scentsy is a lot cheaper than Bath and Body Works and the quality is just as good, if not better.  Scentsy offers everything from warmers and scent bars to laundry  and body products!  Brianna always has a lot of great deals going on!  Oh, and if you go to Brianna's site by clicking here and go under open parties and order through my party, "Tinisha's Blog", you will win a FREE product upon purchase, no matter how much you spend!

What are you waiting for?!  Go order your Scentsy products now!

My Dietitian Appointment

So, my pulmonary doctor thought it would be good for me to see a dietitian and while I wasn't completely enthused by the idea, I opted in.  I mean, why not?  For one, maybe she could tell me something that I don't already know.  Two, the current program I'm under covers it at 100%, no cost to me.  I was looking forward to her telling me that everything I'm doing was wrong.  Did you pick up on my sarcasm there?  Okay.  Good.  Well, it didn't quite go like that.  I mean, there are things that I do wrong, but not much...by my standards.

I basically know what to do.  It's just trying to apply it, which is the difficult part for me as it is anyone.  She blamed Jason for everything and asked me how I could be with someone who is so unsupportive just because I don't force him to change how he is.  She was like, "Well, if your other half was supportive, he wouldn't eat things that are bad for you in front of you?"  Really?  I can't expect him to change just because I have to.  It's up to me, not him.  He is actually very supportive.  Wait.  Did I opt in for a psychology appointment or dietitian appointment?  I was kind of really offended.  She knew that she stepped outside her boundaries of qualifications because she even said herself, "We're stepping into a whole other field that I have no business in..."  Then why did you mention things that you have no business mentioning?

Also, she was a little bit bigger than me.  I'm not sure I can trust someone's credibility in diet when they are bigger than I am.  You have all that "knowledge" and look like that?  I feel like...what business do you have to tell me to get my shit together when you don't even have your own together?  She basically told me things that I pretty much already knew and I was not surprised by that one bit.

Anyway.  That's how that went.

I have an appointment to my real doctor on Friday.  I want to see if he will try me on a medication to aid in weight-loss and perhaps up my antipsychotic just a tweak.  Oh, and I had my appointment the other day for my sleep apnea and breathing test results yesterday.  I don't have sleep apnea and I have minimal breathing problems associated with being overweight.  He said if I get my weight down, I should be fine.

Next week, I'm being tested for narcolepsy, just to make sure I don't have it.  He's mostly thinking that my excess daytime sleepiness is due to me being overweight.

So, that was my day.

5 Commercials I Can't Stand

AARP's, 'I thank you so much for that' commercial - Her husband mentions how he took out the trash and she says, "I know and I thank you so much for that".  It doesn't even sound genuine.  Just stop.

Doritos, 'I don't know, can you?' commercial - This one really makes me mad.  I really hope that our current and future generations aren't that bad.  The mother asks for help and her son says, "I don't know, can you?" Ohhh, I would SO slap my child into tomorrow if they ever said that to me.  It should be a given to help your mother out.  Also, why would you even make a commercial like that?  So, kids think it's right to talk to your mother like that?  Pathetic.

Former Smoking, where guy takes his teeth out commercial - I just can't stand the way he takes his teeth out and all you hear is his mouth slopping around.  So gross!

AARP's, 'I got big plans' commercial - No you don't.  You're 60.  Please.  Your big plans consist of finding your ideal nursing home.

Life Below Zero commercial - I just hate this one because they sing, "Let it Snow" and it's spring.  Like, no.  No snow here.  Go away!

I must let a lot of things get to me.  Do you have any commercials that you can't stand?  If so, which ones?

I'm Turning 24 Next Month!

Lately, I've been stuck in a rut.  I really have to start getting my life back on track.  So, I thought about some things that I'm going to do to ring in yet another year of my life.  There are a few things that I personally want to do in order to organize and prioritize my life better.  I'm going to be 24 next month.  I have to get my shit together.

You all know that I'm working on eating and exercising better.  That's definitely one of my priorities.  After reading one of Taylor's posts over at 'The Daily Tay', I came across one of her posts where she mentions this brand of life planners by Erin Condren.  I've been wanting a planner like this in my life forever.  When I saw the price, my eye balls almost shot out of my head, but would I pay it?  Probably.  But, since the year already started, I probably won't buy one until next year considering how expensive they are.  I'll make my flimsy dollar planner work for now.  So a new planner will be in the works for the upcoming year.

I want to learn how to network better.  I've been in denial lately about networking.  I try to keep telling myself that networking isn't important, yatta, yatta.  Truth is, it's very important.  I'm trying to get a job in a medical office of a well-known medical network where I live.  I keep getting those letters...you know, the ones that start, "After much consideration, we have decided on another candidate to fill the position..."  In school, in my career planning and exploration class, I had to fill out a network chart of people that I could reach out to in a professional sense.  When I realized that I don't have too many people in my network, I knew I had to change that.  I mean, it really is all on who you know.  So, once I get back to work, I'm going to volunteer my time at that well-known medical center and build my network.

Jason and I have already started talking about life...for real.  Like, the 'B' word came up.  I think Jason really wants to have a baby and while I'm kind of nervous about it, I want to have one too.  Jason knows that I have to finish school first and we want to do a few things before we have our first baby.  However, if it happens, it happens.  That's the way God wanted it to be.  Not planning though.  I also need to learn how to stop basing my life off of the life of others and do what works for me and Jason.

The doctor is fixing to release me back to work on the 30th and I definitely can't wait!  I can't wait to start getting my life back on track.

Blogging Dry Spell

I feel like I really have to be honest here.  My content lately has been complete and utter crap.  There isn't much to blog about when all I do is physical therapy and school.  Besides that, I also have a lack of money.  I'm really hoping that once I get back to work, my life will pick back up and I will have better things to talk about.  What is there to write about when you don't do much with your life?  Wow.  I just literally read that question out loud.  Could I be any more negative?  I've read a time or two that if you have nothing to talk about, you just shouldn't blog.  You can't compensate quantity for quality.  In simpler terms, if you're content isn't worth reading, you've pretty much have wasted your time.

What do you do when you have blogging dry spells?

I mean, I don't want people to think that I'm neglecting my blog and then they lose interest in me.  I'm still here...just not here, here.  I love my blog.  I really want ya'll to know that.  I'm still trying to find my place in the blogging world.  I'm a little frustrated.  I guess my head is wrapped around "blogging perfectly".  I'm never happy with my layout or my writing.  I know there is no such thing as "blogging perfectly".

I always read that a lot of bloggers are off doing this and that and I'm over here doing nothing.  I'm like, "How do they afford to go do all these things all the time?"

I thought about being a food critic blogger and was like, "For one, I'm overweight.  Two, I don't have money for that shit."  I'm graduating from my associates degree in June -- I should be smarter than this!  I know that I should be writing for myself as most bloggers say, but I'm just curious as to how many of you actually read my blog.  Better yet, I want to know how many of you read my blog and don't comment.

I'm going to try to come up with some really great content.  I promise!  Maybe I'm just having a moment.

5 Tall Tail Signs You Have Sleep Apnea

I had a sleep study done about two weeks ago due to waking up gasping for air.  It was a pretty scaring thing to experience.  If you don't detect sleep apnea and let it go, you could end up with problems with high blood pressure and congestive heart failure at a young age.  So, here are the top 5 tall tail signs that you might have sleep apnea:

Snoring

Gritting of teeth

Stop breathing

Breathing holding spells

Abnormally tired during the day

Most people don't realize when they are snoring, gritting their teeth, or if they quit breaking in their sleep for any length of time.  I've had one breath holding spell.  That was my wake up call.  Plus, I'm always excessively tired during the day.  Most days, it doesn't take much for me to get tired.

7 Things I'm Going To Do To Be A Happier, Healthier Me!

So, my birthday is next month and I thought what better time to make healthier decisions for myself than turning another year older?  I seriously have to make some personal commitments to myself.  I want to learn how to be more in tune with my body and learn better self control.

Work-out for at least 20 minutes each day -  In the very minimum, I want to shoot for at least 20 minutes each day.  Working out, especially when you're severely out of shape can be a very daunting task.  I think 20 minutes is a good start.  As time goes on, I will gradually increase my time goal.

Drink plenty of water - This has and will be a challenge for me.  I'm going to shoot for 12, 8oz glasses of water a day.

Make healthier eating choices - I really have to learn self control with this one.  I want to make it a goal to eat leaner meats, fresh vegetables, and whole grain.  I have to learn to get over cravings.

Learn self control and listen to my body - I really want to trust in my body to tell me what I should be doing.  I need to learn self control and learn how to control my anxiety.

Stretch - I really need to start stretching.  The physical therapist told me that my muscles are shortened due to being so uptight with my anxiety.

Yoga - Eventually, I want to get into yoga.  I want to lose some weight before I get into it seriously.  I'm just doing easy, seated yoga for now.

Take my vitamins and krill oil pill daily - I'm really bad at taking pills.  I definitely need to work on that!

My goal is to lower my cholesterol and get off as many of the medications I'm currently on as much as possible.  I want to get down to a normal, healthy weight and maintain it.

On an ending note, HAPPY 31st BIRTHDAY TO MY WONDERFUL HUBBY, JASON!
